National Engineers Week 2007

National Engineers Week 2007
One small step for mankind. Hooray for Congress!

Five months ago ESCS President Matthew Heaphy published an Aug. 28th 2006 article in EE Times asking us to invest in our children, the future engineers by supporting the First Robotics program in your town. January 30, 2007 the US Congress passed resolution 59 making February 17th 2007 National Engineers Week. Congratulations to all who chose engineering as a profession. As the ESCS ad in Electronic Supply & Manufacturing magazine stated While China & India strive for world dominance the totals of engineers graduating in China 300,000 India 200,000 and the USA just 60,000 we all need to bring awareness to the need for more women and men to enter a field we all can agree adds tremendous value to the quality of life on earth. “This is just one small step”.
